If you would like to experience Target Archery to see if it is for you, then during the summer months our club holds "Have a Go’s" which are an opportunity for a group of up to 20 people to try Archery in a fun relaxed atmosphere and may be win a medal at the end of the evening.
We also run Taster sessions through out the year to allow people to try Target Archery before they sign up for a Beginners course.
Membership
The Anchor Bowmen Archery Club, based in Derby in the East Midlands, is a voluntary group which is affiliated to the;
- Grand National Archery Society, GNAS
- East Midlands Archery Society, EMAS
- Derbyshire County Archery Association, DCAA
To become a shooting member of a Target Archery Club, a 6 weeks Beginners course must be completed. Anchor Bowmen’s Target Archery courses are run by qualified coaches who are supported by experienced club members.
The Beginners courses are run through out the year.
Membership fees are paid in January and July, of which a part goes to the 3 groups that we are affiliated to.
Once you have paid your membership fee you will be issued with a GNAS card that will have your membership number on it. You will need to keep this card with you to prove you are allowed to shoot, especially when entering tournaments.
With your membership you will also be sent a copy of Archery UK magazine, four times a year.
Committee 
Our Archery club is committee run with members electing the committee annually at the Annual General Meeting, which is usually held in December.

Rounds
We shoot a variety of recognised metric and imperial rounds, up to 90 metres / 100 yards. We also shoot a Clout, annually, at 180 yards. See charts below.

- Junior fees will apply to members under 18 years of age as of the 1st July.
